AI assistants
Turn a conversation into a task list or ask for an overview to see what needs your attention today. A connected AI assistant can find, create, edit and move tasks in Plynno, change statuses and assign tasks. Your existing Plynno permissions apply.
All users can connect after enabling access in settings. ChatGPT and Claude connections have been tested.
Connect
- In Plynno, open Settings → Integrations, enable AI assistants and copy the server URL using the button beside it.
- In your AI assistant, open plugins or integrations and choose to add a custom MCP server. Enter Plynno as the name and https://mcp.plynno.app as the URL. If asked to choose an authorisation method, select OAuth.
- A Plynno page will open. Sign in to your account, check the assistant’s name and allow access. Enter your password only on the sign-in page, never in an AI chat.
- Return to the chat, select the Plynno connection if your AI assistant requires it, and ask: “Show my tasks in Plynno for today.”
Menu names and support for custom MCP servers depend on your AI assistant and plan.
If you’ve already granted access, you may not be asked again. When your assistant gains new capabilities, refresh the connection and start a new chat. In ChatGPT, use Refresh.
Try asking
- “Show overdue tasks and today's overview.”
- “Show the Spaces I can access, including those with no tasks yet.”
- “Create a task called Prepare proposal for tomorrow.”
- “Add this task list to the Website launch Space.”
- “Move these tasks I created into the Website launch Space.”
- “Add this recipe to my personal task’s comment and keep the notes already there.”
- “Find Olena in this space and assign the task to her.”
Only the assignee can change an assigned shared task’s status. The author or Space owner can assign others; other members can assign themselves. If someone changes a task while the assistant is working, agree with the assistant on what to update before continuing.
Adding a task list
Send your list and say where to add the tasks. The assistant can create up to 20 tasks at once, or fewer with long descriptions. It adds longer lists in groups. New tasks start with the Open status; changing their status or assignment takes a separate request.
If an error occurs while adding a group, none of that group is saved. Tasks already added remain. Ask the assistant to summarise what’s been added and what still needs attention.
If you don’t get a response, first check with the assistant what’s been saved. Adding the whole list again as new tasks can create duplicates — Plynno allows tasks with identical names.
Batch changes and subtasks
Try “Move these tasks to Monday. Show me the changes first.” You can edit up to 20 tasks at once: dates, titles, comments, assignees or statuses. You can also archive or restore up to 20 tasks. If any action is unavailable, the entire batch remains unchanged.
A preview saves nothing. Permissions and task versions are checked again after you approve the changes. Restoring a task from the archive preserves its previous status.
Add, rename, complete or remove individual subtasks without replacing the other checklist items.
Spaces, milestones and sprints
The assistant can create a Space in Work or Personal. Your existing account limits apply. Member invitations and access settings stay in Plynno.
In a Space with milestones enabled, you can create and edit phases and milestones and place tasks in them. Milestone placement does not change the task date.
In a Space with sprints enabled, the owner can create, edit, start and close a sprint; members can add or remove tasks. Starting a sprint sets its end date on tasks without a date. Removing such a task, or returning unfinished work to the backlog when closing the sprint, clears the date supplied by the sprint. Independently set dates are preserved.
Try “Show the current sprint’s tasks” or “Give me this week’s overview for the Launch Space.” The overview includes scheduled, completed, overdue, blocked, undated and unassigned tasks. Groups can overlap. For a closed sprint, the list shows current data for tasks still in the Space, not a snapshot from the closing date.
Personal is a context that can include Spaces. If you only want tasks outside Spaces, specify No Space.
Access and activity
Turn off AI assistants to stop access for all connected assistants. Reconnect your assistant after enabling access again. Previous actions are not undone.
Check the Activity log for the latest 50 assistant actions within 30 days, including when they happened and their outcome. Task text and the contents of your requests aren’t stored in this log.
If the assistant asks you to wait because of a request limit, pause for the time given.
Current limits
You can ask the assistant to change a task’s date. For now, make changes to your personal daily plan in Plynno.
The assistant does not access team discussions, attachments or the Scratchpad, manage members or permanently delete tasks. Open Plynno for these actions. It doesn’t send reminders on its own either.
Moving tasks
Ask the assistant to move up to 20 tasks at once into one accessible, non-archived Space. You can move tasks between Spaces or bring personal tasks into shared work. You can only move non-archived tasks you created, even if you own the Space. Moving tasks back to No Space isn’t available yet.
Dates, statuses, descriptions, subtasks and discussions stay with the tasks. Shared tasks keep their assignees and personal planning. Personal tasks become assigned to you as their author.
If an assignee can’t receive tasks in the destination Space, or moving a shared task would change its assignee, agree on assignment changes separately first. If any of the selected tasks can’t be moved, all of them stay where they are.
Tasks leave the old Space’s sprint and milestone, but sprint history remains. Members of the destination Space will see the tasks and their discussions, so keep this in mind before moving them.
