Milestones: see the path to an outcome

Opening a workshop takes a venue, a programme and materials. Individual cards show the next actions; Milestones helps you see how they come together for opening day.

Phases, milestones and tasks

A phase groups part of the work, such as Preparation. A milestone is a dated checkpoint, such as Ready to open. Tasks are the actions that lead there. Add a milestone within a phase or directly in a Space.

A phase bar spans the earliest and latest dates of its tasks and milestones. Without dates, no bar appears. It is a view of the plan, not an automatic estimate of work duration.

Build the plan

  1. Open Milestones and select the Spaces you need. If the button is missing, enable the feature in Settings.
  2. Add a phase or milestone beside the Space name. Give a milestone a name, date and optional phase.
  3. Use the menu beside a card to place it in a phase or milestone. On desktop, you can also drag it onto a group heading. Availability depends on your task permissions.
  4. Ungrouped cards appear under Unassigned. Grouping does not change a task’s date; edit that in the card.

A phase or milestone can be edited by its creator or the Space owner. Deleting a group keeps its tasks and any nested milestones.

Find the right time scale

Choose Week, Month or Quarter, move with the arrows and return with Today. Collapse groups or resize the name column. On phones, scroll the time scale and use the move menu beside a card.

Search, dates and All / Mine narrow the view. Show completed includes finished cards. Drag tasks to reorder them within a phase or milestone.

Share the plan

Excel exports the current filters, including collapsed groups.

For day-to-day progress, open the status board. Milestones provides checkpoints; Board shows the current state of the same tasks.
